The European Commission has launched the RegioStars Awards 2016. Applications can be submitted until 15 April.

Projects are invited to apply in five categories:

SMART GROWTH: Emerging opportunities in the global economy
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH: Circular Economy
INCLUSIVE GROWTH: Integrated living – building inclusive and non-segregated communities
CITYSTAR: Innovative solutions for sustainable urban development
EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT: Making a difference by managing differently

The RegioStars Awards recognize good practices in regional development and highlight original and innovative projects which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions. The award ceremony will take place in the frame of the European Week of Regions and Cities (former Open Days) on October 11 in Brussels.
