European park academy
The „European Parks‘ Academy” will be held in Klagenfurt from 11 to 23 July 2016. The event is organised in two one-week modules on „Effective Financial Management of Protected Areas“ and „New Challenges in the Governance of Protected Areas“.
The Academy is developed by IUCN/WCPA Europe, E.C.O. Institute of ecology, University college for agrarian and environmental pedagogy, TU Wien, Universitaet Klagenfurt and the University of Capodistria. The initiative is supported by the Austrian ministry of environment.
From 11 to 17 July 2016 the first seminar: "Effective financial management of protected areas“ will take place, that focuses on meeting the challenge of an efficient and effective use of resources in the context of increasing obligations and expectations on the one hand and decreasing budgets on the other hand.
From 18 to 23 July 2016 the "New challenges in the governance of protected areas“ seminar will be held. It will focus on meeting the challenge of governance of protected areas in a European context and provides strategies and practical tools.
The seminars are open to professionals and executives of protected areas.
